About Us

The Region 8 Comprehensive Center (CC) is one of 19 Regional CCs in the CC Network that provides high-quality, intensive capacity-building technical assistance to clients from state, regional, and local educational agencies and schools in Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio. Region 8 CC staff serve clients by helping to identify, implement, and sustain effective evidence-based programs, practices, and interventions that support improved educator and student outcomes. Through these capacity-building services, Region 8 CC staff help agency staff improve educational outcomes for all students, close achievement gaps, and improve the quality of instruction. Because the Region 8 CC is a federally funded Comprehensive Center, all our work with education agencies is conducted free of any charge for services or related travel.

ICF, a global consulting services company, was selected by the U.S. Department of Education to operate the Region 8 CC between 2019–2024. ICF is the lead organization supported by RMC Research Corporation and Applied Engineering Management (AEM) Corporation as major partners in delivering services through the Region 8 CC.

Co-directors Caitlin Howley and Kerry Hoffman lead the Region 8 CC team supported by two state coordinators for each state. State coordinators take the lead in understanding their state’s needs, customizing and delivering collaborative technical assistance that addresses their needs, and benchmarking progress toward key objectives—with the goal of improving student outcomes. Region 8 CC leaders form and lead flexibly staffed teams of technical assistance specialists, expert consultants, and others as appropriate, to provide services that meet the needs of state education agencies and those they support.
